About the Conference

We at the Indian Cotton Federation (ICF),Coimbatore jointly with Indian Cotton Association Ltd.,(ICAL) Bathinda are organising an International Cotton Conference at Coimbatore during 9th August and 10th August of 2024. The Conference will be for 1½ days starting by the 9th afternoon and finishing on the 10th evening.

You must be aware that Coimbatore is the hub of Spinning in India and around Coimbatore we have the largest export hub of Knitwear and grey cloth in India.
Around Coimbatore, India’s 59% spinning capacity and 80% Knitwear garment facilities are available. Also,Coimbatore is one of India's largest textile machinery manufacturers (M/s. Lakshmi Machine Works Co. Ltd. is based here).

We wish to create an opportunity for the entire Textile Chain that is the Ginners, the Textile Mills,Garment Manufacturers, Cotton and Yarn Traders,Textile Machinery Manufacturers to come together and exchange their views. A lot of actual users of Cotton i.e the Textile Mills will be participating in the discussions. The Textile Ministry forecast from 44 billion exports to $ 100 billion exports by 2030, we need almost double the cotton production by increasing the yield from 450kgs to the global average of 795 kgs per ha. To have competitiveness in cotton pricing ,the central govt .have revised the import duty only partially ,instead of making zero duty and speeding up FTA negotiations with few countries. Global recession prospectiveness of export opportunities. Trade segments fervently hope , business revival during mid 2024. Logistics - congestion bottlenecks need a review. Climate change, container availability, digitalisation etc are few to speed up the process. Cotton being a high risk commodity, requires safe packaging.

Efficiency and cost reduction is the main focus of the current situation. Yield potential is high but India needs to walk a long way. Yield / Quality a Paramount – Commercially viable but prices are wobbling prohibitively. Hence COTTON CHALLENGES AHEAD” and we need to interact on that.

So request all our esteemed members of this TEXTILE INDUSTRY to come forward and grace us with your presence.
