Global Cotton Scenario 2024 Cotton Challenges Ahead

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please be informed that we at the Indian Cotton Federation (ICF), Coimbatore jointly with Indian Cotton Association Ltd.,(ICAL) Bathinda are organizing an International Cotton Conference at Coimbatore during 9th and 10th of August 2024.

The Conference will be for 1½ days starting by 5th afternoon and finishing on 6th evening. We are informing you in advance so that you can plan accordingly.

You must be aware that Coimbatore is the hub of Spinning in India and around Coimbatore is the largest exports of Knitwear and grey cloth in India.

Around Coimbatore, India’s 53% spinning capacity and 74% Knitwear garment facilities are available. Also, India’s largest textile machinery manufacturer M/s. Lakshmi Machine Works Co. Ltd. is based here.

It will be an opportunity for the entire Textile Chain that is the Ginners, the Textile Mills, Garment Manufacturers, Cotton and Yarn Traders, Textile Machinery Manufacturers can exchange their views.

A lot of actual users of Cotton i.e the Textile Mills will be participating in the discussions.

ln order to maintain pace with the increased demand for the commodity, both in national and international markets, it is imperative to give impetus for development of new cotton varieties and hybrids with appropriate cultivation technologies, introduction of large number of private sector. BT Cotton hybrids have brought a welcome change in recent times as far as production gains are concerned. However, to meet the ever increasing demand both in the domestic and international markets, an effective strategy needs to be developed. Yield potential is high but India need to walk a long way.

Yield / Quality a Paramount – Commercially viable but prices are wobbling prohibitively. Hence “COTTON CHALLENGES AHEAD” and we need to interact. So, come and take part in the deliberations and we are sure you will benefit by it.

For Indian Cotton Federation.
